Coach Sam’s Tip of the Week: The Unit Turn

“Sometimes we take our racket back before turning the body, giving ourselves less time to think before hitting the ball, so we either hit the ball too early or too late. The secret to a successful forehand or backhand is to turn your hips and upper body as one unit when you’re preparing to hit the ball, rather than just moving your racket back. By doing the unit turn you put yourself in a better position to hit a more successful shot. When you next play,  apply the unit by turning your body as one unit for every shot, this will also be beneficial for your mind and coordination, taking your game to the next level. See you on court!”

Happy Holidays!
