Orange Ball Tournament Results

Well done to everyone who took part in our Orange Ball Tournament last weekend. Congratulations to our champion Gabriel Oliviera who beat Leon Wojciechowski 10-6 in the final. A great match boys, very well done to you both!

Rule of the Week

If a game score of 6-6 is reached and tie-break set rules are used, players must play a tie-break game in order to decide who wins the set. In a tie-break game, a player/team must reach 7 points with a two point advantage to win. For the serving format of a tie-break game, player A serves for the first point, player B serves for the next two points, player A serves for the next two points after that… etc.

Coach Mariano’s Tip of the Week: Watch Your Service Toss

“Are you having trouble with your service toss? Pay attention to where you are looking as you toss the tennis ball. If you are already looking up above your head before the ball gets there, that may be the problem. You’ve heard of hand-eye coordination? Let’s call this the hand-eye connection. As you start your service motion, watch the ball in your hand all the way through the toss motion and into the air. This simple connection between your eyes, brain and hand will make your toss placement more consistent. Good luck!”
