Mrs Miyagi’s League – Players of the Week
Congratulations to Antonia Reid and Jo Cordaroy who are our Mrs Miyagi’s Ladies League Players of the Week (photo to follow). Antonia and Jo were nominated by their coach for playing so well against tough opposition in their match last week and securing an overall win for Bulldogs! These lovely ladies win a brunch for two at Mrs Miyagi’s Restaurant in Studio City. Well done ladies!
UTR U15 Singles Tournament – Results
Well done to everyone who took part in the UTR U15 Boys and Girls Singles Tournament last weekend. Congratulations to our Champion, Idhant Kastwer who beat Magnus Oestergaard 6-3 6-4 in the final. Well done boys on another fantastic tournament!

Interview with Coach Petar
This week’s interview is with Rackets Academy coach, Petar Kaucic.
1. Who is your favourite professional player?
My favourite professional player is definitely Roger Federer. Regardless of his achievements, I’m always amazed with his level of professionalism and planning which is giving him a great chance to still compete on at the highest level even though he is 39 years old.
2. Why do you love tennis?
My love for tennis started at a young age. I was always attracted more to individual sports as I like responsibility. Also, tennis taught me many valuable lessons and applicable to life; no matter how many mistakes you make there is always another chance, but never repeat the same mistake twice. Consistency and hard work will always beat talent.
3. How did you get into tennis?
I started playing football and tennis when my father decided that I would have to choose some sport. In that period in Croatia tennis was extremely popular as we had Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic (2001).
4. When did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 5 and since then I’ve been on a tennis court mostly every day as my father was as also an athlete and I enjoyed sports and spending time in sport clubs with other kids

Rule of the Week
In doubles, when returning service, the partner of the receiver should generally call the service line for him/her. The receiver should generally call the centre and side service lines.
