Players of the Week
This week’s Players of the Week go to Magnus Ostergaard and Nolan Rolan. Magnus receives this award for his victory in the U12s UAE Ranking event that took place last weekend, beating Tudor Zecheru 7-6 6-3 in the quarter finals. Nolan receives this award for his fantastic performance in the Orange Ball Tournament last weekend, reaching the semi-finals. Congratulations boys on your fantastic achievements!

Rule of the Week: Round Robin competition
Round robin formats see players split into groups (usually of 4-5 players). Each player plays against every other player in his or her group, guaranteeing the player a set number of matches.
Coach Mariano’s Tip of the Week: Develop a serve ritual
“The serve is the only shot in tennis where you have complete control because you start the point by sending instead of receiving the ball. As you enter competition, establishing a service ritual or routine can ensure you take time and find your focus before each point. Your service ritual can be as simple as bouncing the ball three times before starting your service motion or rocking side to side, breathing out — anything that forces you to take your time before hitting the serve will help you get a sense of control and focus. Find what is comfortable for you and make it a habit no matter what the score. A consistent routine will lead to a more consistent serve. Good luck!“
Rackets Academy Larte Ladies League: Season 5
Season 5 of the Rackets Academy Larte Ladies Doubles League kicked off last week and the teams got off to a great start after the Winter break. Week 1 saw some intense, yet exciting matches on court. Congratulations to Full Metal Rackets, Rackettes and Bulldogs for winning their matches. See scores below.
Congratulations to Dorota Raczynska who is our Larte Ladies League Player of the Week for week 1. Dorota wins a brunch for two at Larte Restaurant in Studio City. She was voted for Player of the Week by the coaches for her amazing performance in her league match last week, after winning her line with partner Izabela Sobczak against Rackettes team. Well done Dorota on this well-deserved award!
