Coach Moro’s Tip of the Week: Straight Arm at Impact

“Let’s say you’ve been practicing for a while and you really want to get more spin, more power and your forehand to look more like what you see on TV… You can do this with one simple thing, keeping a straight arm on impact! Doing so will maximize your swing area, and the wrist rotation will generate more power and more spin together with extra control.

On the court, you will often hear me saying ‘window wiper’. It’s the most similar movement to what we need to achieve while keeping our arm straight. When you next practice, try it, and feel free to give me feedback anytime on how it felt! Good luck!”
