What’s New?
We are delighted to announce our new Ladies Coffee Morning at Al Barari – Body Language, every Wednesday 8.30-10.30am. Two hours of organised match play in a relaxed environment. It’s a great way to meet new people. Everyone is welcome and price includes a coffee or refreshment in The Farm afterwards. Simply sign up through our mobile app.

It’s not wise to show your opponent that you are tired during the game…Deal with negative body language.
Coach Sam’s Tip of the Week: What to do with an aggressive return
“One important tip for doubles is to react properly to an aggressive return. In case the receiver’s return is powerful enough that the serving team needs to attack, the receiver and the partner should position themselves in a volley position while moving forward in the center of the service box making sure that both sides of the net are covered. If the receiver’s return hits down the line, then both the receiver and the partner should cover the down the line side of the net.
At this stage, the server’s partner is vulnerable in his volleying position (near the net as mentioned above) so he/she has to move slightly backwards and wait for the receiver’s team return. The server has to move left to get the ball so the partner has to go in the same direction to cover the gap between them. Too large a gap between each partner can make the team vulnerable, as the opponent will certainly attack down the middle or in between you and your partner…Good luck!“

Congratulations to Michaela Maskova who is our Larte Ladies League Player of the Week for week 3. Michaela wins a brunch for two at Larte Restaurant in Studio City. She was voted for Player of the Week by the coaches for playing her best tennis to date last week in a superior performance at the net to win top line in her Division A match, keeping her team in touching distance of the league leaders. Well done Michaela!
