Jacob Neville

Jacob Neville

I’m Jacob from Nottingham, UK. I began playing tennis at 4, inspired by my sister’s competitive career. By 6 I was competing myself, progressing through the ranks and joining Nottingham’s performance programme. I became number 1 in Nottingham which I retained from ages 10–13, won multiple regional titles, and competed nationally.

At 14, I joined the full‑time performance programme at MyTennis/Project 10, receiving professional coaching and S&C support while training and competing alongside top national and international players. I also began coaching as a mini tennis assistant at Nottingham Tennis Centre, which sparked my interest in developmental sport and coaching.

At 18, I moved into higher education at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), completing an undergraduate degree in Sport Science and a master’s in Sport Psychology. I represented NTU in both the 2nd and 1st tennis teams competing against top universities. Through my studies I gained applied experience through sport psychology and performance analysis projects with Mansfield Town FC, NTU Sport, Project 10 Tennis and GB Canoe Slalom.

Alongside studying and competing, I coached NTU development squads and later at David Lloyd Aspley/West Bridgford, leading sessions from tots to U14 performance groups. During this time, I achieved my Level 1 and Level 2 coaching qualifications.
My coaching philosophy centres on enjoyment, respect and encouragement, while staying focused on helping each player become the best version of themselves.
